Did anybody else’s elementary school principal resign today?

A week before school is supposed to start. Anybody know what happened?

Which school?

Could you provide a little more information, such as the school they resigned from? How else would we know if our principal is different from your principal?

Ah you bring back memories of the disappearing Sangster principal. Those were the days.

If I had to guess they either left for personal issues, they are ultra angry with FCPS, or got a sick job offer from another district. That’s the only reason a principal would quit like this.

Can OP please tell us which school??

What's the story behind the disappearing Sangster principal?

There are a lot of transitions during this time. Principals move on to other opportunities and it usually doesn’t get put into place until right before school starts.

Ravensworth Elem principal left effective tomorrow. No replacement but she was offered a position at "another FCPS school" and took it.

For anyone wondering how she is in case she's replacing your principal, she's pretty good. She has 2 kids at LBSS and seems to really care about the environment the school is making for the kids. She was out at kiss and ride most days helping to get kids into cars quickly and seemed pretty good to the staff from a parent and PTA board stand point.

Look on the bright side. If the principal left earlier, there would have had teacher turnover. This way, at least, the teachers are locked in for the year, and you will get an interim. Plus, there are a bunch of inactive principals hanging around gatehouse.

LOL that you think teachers are ever “locked in” for the year. They can quit whenever they want. Ask me how I know.
