Following up when you know the hiring manager

Anonymous
About four weeks ago, I interviewed for a job reporting to a former manager of mine. She was the one who told me about the position and encouraged me to apply, but it’s been radio silence ever since the interview. Typically, I would have long moved on at this point—I’m so accustomed to rejection at this point—but it’s bothering me that there’s no resolution on this one. Should I follow up and ask or just let it go?

Of course you follow up. Why would grown up professional ghost a coworker?

Dude, so many people are on vacation right now - it's nearly impossible to get an interview panel together, or get their feedback after an interview. Follow up professionally.

Follow up with a brief note. Polite and professional.
