CDC employees in the DMV

Anyone else get a phone message about all CDC offices being closed tomorrow because of Friday’s shooting in Atlanta? Haven’t heard from my team or building manager yet.

Scary stuff on Friday, especially the pictures of bullet holes in the CDC building - I was at that CDC building/area towards the end of last year for a work visit. What a time we are living in.

Yes, got email from CDC alerts.
A bit crazy that they cancelled all telework agreements this year and now we're expected to telework tomorrow whether or not we have a telework agreement. People are traumatized, just give them a day off....

You were AT that building last year? The one that was shot at? And then it was shot at? Did you also go past the Pentagon station on the blue line before 911? I mean, you were right there, right? You are a main character! Have they asked you for a statement yet?

I'm not CDC, but I strategically insisted on a seat NOT near a public facing window/street when we RTO earlier this year. I was thinking along the lines of another OKC, but I guess this qualifies too. Crazy world we live in.

That's right. I don't know why I work so hard and care so much when all I need to do to help keep the population healthy is to pray for it

Oh don’t be a jerk. It’s normal to relate current events to your own life. I work at the FDA and my first thought was oh I guess this is why we have to go through metal detectors every day. It’s a crazy world and sometimes the crazy is a little closer to home than others.
