| I like to stay at JW marriotts, but it seems that a lot of the places I go also have a Hilton property that is a lot cheaper. Is Hilton really that much worse than Marriott? The price is usually about 40% less. |

I prefer Hilton, but every property is different. If they acquired some old hotel property, be sure to get details about what renovations they completed.
The more pricy Hiltons are naturally nicer. Be sure to get the Honors discount price. |
| I'm looking specifically at the Marco Island Hilton vs. JW. Anyone stayed at either? Looks like JW has more dining options. |
| It’s hard to compare a regular Hilton to a JW Marriott. Hilton has a more premium set of hotels (maybe called Curio?) that’s more comparable to JW marriotts. A regular Hilton is more like Westins or Sheratons, in the Marriott universe. |
Thank you. |
| I travel a lot for work and there are many more Hiltons than there are Marriotts. I'd prefer Marriotts but find I have to use Hilton. |
| Last year I stayed three weeks at a Hilton. It was great in every way. Before that I had always stayed at a Marriott. They were definitely comparable. I think Marriotts often have more perks, but the room and the facility were very nice. |

We just stayed at the JW Marriott Marco Island. For that property I’d choose the Hilton next time. The JW pool seating is terrible unless you pay for “premium” seating. The beach setup is not great and it’s a hassle to wait for their attendants to set you up. You can’t just come and go. Our room had barely anywhere to store our close since the “spa” decorating was so minimalist as to not have many drawers. Amenities like restaurants, game room, and the nightly fire show can be accessed by anyone, not just guests, so stay at the Hilton and then stop by JW for dinner and sunset one night.
I did love Marco Island despite finding the JW super annoying. We plan to return and stay elsewhere. |

Hilton’s matching brand tier is Marriott.
JW Marriotts most similar matching Hilton brand is Conrad JW is in the luxury tier of Marriott’s 30+ brands. Also, you will hardly ever get a discounted or low rate at JW Marco island; it’s an extremely popular property. |
So funny! It’s so subjective. I travel a lot for work, too, and prefer Hilton over Marriott! |
My company uses Marriott if they can and it kind of drives me nuts when there is a Hilton much closer to where we’re going (and usually the Hilton is cheaper). |
| I stay at both brands and Hyatts too. You really have to read detailed reviews. It's so property specific. |
Very true. At some point the actual brand doesn't matter. |
