Tennis teams or clubs for a 9yo DD in MoCo?

Anonymous
My 9yo is interested in making tennis her main sport. We’re hoping to connect her with a team or club, not just signing up solo as a “free agent.”

Are there any local tennis teams (perhaps even beginner-level) that welcome kids her age? We’re looking for something where she can be part of a group, learn and grow with peers, and have some structure not just private lessons and matches.

Thx!

If your daughter is a beginner she is a very long way away from playing in a league or team.

Find a group class that she can continue year round. That is your best bet.

However it sounds like you fundamentally misunderstand the sport. It is mostly an individual sport.

If the commute is not too bad, you should take her to JTCC in College Park and sign her up for a group class (at the appropriate level).
