| $20 for parking; $20 pp to get in the “gate.” God, do I feel like I’m getting reamed. If you are part of the organizing team: eff you. |
Dude, those are venue costs. These tournaments are not cheap to put on. They try to not make the fees exorbitant, and cost prohibitive for teams to enter (they want to fill the brackets) so the split the costs up between tournie fees and facility fees. Nobody makes bank putting on a tournament. |
| Everything costs more now. The facility costs more to operate. The tournament could have prepaid the facility and raised the team tournament fees the same amount but then you would have complained the tournament charges too much. At least with the parking fee people can choose to carpool to reduce it. |
| Is it indoor? |
| OP here; fair enough… I stand corrected. I rescind my eff you to the organizers. Best to f luck to all the teams! |
Nah, it's still BS and those prices are ridiculous. You were right to complain. |
| It is BS. Be upfront with the costs and don't nickle and dime people at the venue. |
| These tourneys have a completely different cost structure. It’s actually why they exist. Rather than the kids paying ridiculous fees to join, the teams are super cheap to join. Then the tourneys pay their costs by charging for parking and entrance. The idea is that there are fewer barriers to entry than in travel soccer. I think it’s great. |
