Pre service week

Pre-service week, also known as teacher work week, is a period before the start of the school year dedicated to professional development and classroom preparation for teachers. What do you look forward to the most, teachers?

I have New Educator Orientation on Monday so I'm getting a week head start. As for preservice I am looking forward to meeting all my new coworkers.

Time in my room to set up my classroom! The tasty breakfast from the PTSA is always welcomed, too!

Do they provide breakfast each day?

NP here. I work at a title I school so we don’t get something every day. A church donates lunch 1-2 times over the week. They are so nice.

I’m looking forward to seeing my work friends!

Do you still have open house with incoming students during the end of the week?

I'm a parent, not a teacher. My kid's school is having open house on the Friday before.

So that must be ES. Do MS and HS also have open house the few days before first day of school?

My thoughts exactly. There shouldn’t be any meeting until at least the end of day 2 so teachers can have uninterrupted time setting up classrooms.
