Do any of you know of an in home sleep trainer in the DMV? My sister recently hired one to help sleep train her daughter in Miami and I am wondering jd this exists in DC. Most of my research has come across virtual sleep consultants but I’d like someone to come to the house for a few overnights to observe and guide us.

OMG. Grow a backbone, put in some ear plugs and do it. Be a parent. Parenting is going to be a long and terrible road for you if you need to outsource anytime something gets hard. |
I think the person who wrote “12 hours of sleep at 12 weeks old” (or something like that) runs a sleep training business in the DMV |
Ps - don’t listen to the grouchy person above - sleep training is important! Good for you for finding the resources you need. |
I'm sorry but this isn't "resources". Resources are a book or a podcast, or even a sleep consultant. OP wants someone to come over in the middle of the night and sleep train her child. That is actually insane and she should be told this! |
Just have your night nurse do it. Get a hotel room. Or better yet go on vacation and voila a sleep trained child. It's like sending a puppy away for training. |
Read one of the books and follow the plan.
We used Ferber. Kids are all teens now and doing great, no damage ![]() |
I felt like I was losing my mind less than 2 weeks ago as my baby was waking wvery hour to two all night. my mom suggested a night nurse and apparently some will come do the sleep training for you if you want to spend $$$$.we started takingcarababies that night. Baby has slept 12 hours past 2 nights. She cried at bedtime for 80 min for the first night and 60 next few... it's been getting shorter
I made my husband be the sleep trainer for both of my kids as I find it way too tempting to pick up baby and rock them, nurse them, etc. For kid one I literally hid in unfinished basement as the cries made me cry. This time I distracted with my toddler. If you have a partner to do the dirty work it's just a matter of choosing a method and implementing |
Make a decision it’s what you’re gonna do then just do it. Pick a method. We originally tried Ferber but going in her room made her worse so we stopped going in.
Basically did CIO. Shewas 4.5 months. It took 3 nights and sge was sleeping 8pm-4am, bottle then bsck to sleep til 7. Dropped that 4am feed herself a month later so was going 11 hours at night at 5.5 months. No regrets and she’s still a good sleeper now as a tween. |
Jesus, everyone on this thread is a jackass.
And I say this as someone who did exactly what you are all suggesting - picked a method, bought the book, read it, and did it. But sheesh, sometimes people are struggling! Sometimes people find things harder than you. Sometimes it’s been months and months and you’re so sleep deprived you can barely function and you need help. Or you just need someone to hold your hand through what can be an incredibly stressful experience. How is that so hard to understand? OP, I don’t have a recommendation for you but what you’re looking for is reasonable and definitely exists. Best of luck to you. |
Similar story here except I breasted. But going in didn’t work for us either. |
My milk supply just dramatically dropped ( used to have huge oversupply and now barely enough...) so be careful if night weaning |
