Civilized societies don’t have endless people living on the streets.

If they can't afford to pay rent then where should they live.

I'm a christian so I feel they should be housed, and kept safe by society. But we don't live in a Christian nation.

lol how about sending those troops to empty the overflowing trash cans at my (federally controlled) neighborhood park?

There’s a pot hole in RCP about to open into a chasm. It’s been there since June at least. I hope fixing that is on the 7 nights of action agenda.

Well we do need a national solution. There is 30% vacancy of homes in the rust belt. Get them on a basic SSI, Medicaid, and into those homes and maybe they can make progress. But moving homeless between states is very divisive; but as a nation we have a lot of housing. If any one state started building homes or housing supports, then it attracts homelessness, so that serves to discourage investment and programs.

Please phrase your request for Federal government assistance in the form of an attack on powerless people, and it will be duly considered. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

A more compassionate solution is for the District to give street people a bus ticket to Texas and a preloaded cash card that only works at least 1200 miles away from Washington DC.

Or Utah. Mike Lee meddling in our business, I’m sure his state is willing to help.

How about putting DC’s “youth offenders” to hard work filling potholes, removing trash and scrubbing graffiti?! Having them wear conspicuous jumpsuits would be a deterrent to others.
