Question: |
Either! There are stereotypes for each, but I’ve had perfectly lovely cats of both sexes. |
We prefer female cats if they are indoors. |
Cats are individuals. The most cuddly cat I've ever had is female but my mom had a male cat who was a giant cuddle bug. |
Orange tom. You can't go wrong with an orange tom. Personable af, they. |
Cats are gross. |
You're disgusting. |
Every cat has a different personality.
I said my next cat would be an orange boy, because they really are super sweet and affectionate--and friendly. Current cat is tuxedo girl, who has social anxiety with strangers but it sweet and affectionate with us. |
Get the cat neutered and it won't matter |
Yes but it has to be done early enough or else they still spray. I get females for that reason alone, but we did have 1 male cat once as a kid and he was pretty awesome. |
I only get females, in my experience males spray no matter what you do. And more territorial. |
Neutered male cats are almost universally sweeter and friendlier. |
PP has it. This is the way. |
This was my fear and kept me from getting male cats for years. Now we have two boys who were neutered early with no problems. They’re both super sweet awesome cats. |
I've only ever had girl cats because when I was a kid that's all my parents would let us get due to the whole "if they weren't fixed early enough they spray everywhere" thing. And a lot of rescue cats aren't fixed early enough. (We only ever adopted cats.) As a result, I guess I have a bias for girl cats. |
