i live in a rowhouse in dc (built in the 1930s) and the windows are in need of replair. need to be reglazed, repainted, some inside repair. handyman wants to charge $125 per window. is this worth it or is it a better idea to replace them? not sure how much replacements are...certainly wouldn't want cheap vinyl windows (or lose the charm of the original window design). i know there is a tax credit for this so wondering if i should look into it.
Seems like you need to get some window companies in to give you bids to see if it is worth it.
those cheap vinyl windows are usually double-paned and help you with your heating and a/c bills. We love ours but we don't live in an historic home.
