Dry Pasta

Anonymous
I bought some mini bow tie pasta from Amazon and it is really bland. I've never had bland pasta in my life. Is it made with inferior flour? I don't understand what can make it blander than other pasta. Yes, I salt the water. I'm thinking of just giving it to the food pantry.

Don't use water. Wash it down with a delicious beverage.

What brand? I've never thought of pasta as being particularly flavorful - it's what you mix it with.

Yeah, usually it's mostly the sauce but when you taste for doneness there is some flavor there. This has no flavor and adds nothing.

Maybe fry it.

You have to salt the water before boiling.

I’m confused, OP. Is your sauce not sticking to the pasta? Is the pasta perhaps stale rather than bland?

Is there a best by date? Dry pasta can definitely taste a bit stale if it is over a year old.

It's just not great pasta made with rich flours. Instead of Amazon, try a curated website.https://www.gustiamo.com

If you've already opened it, it's unlikely the food pantry will take it.

Why would one buy pasta from Amazon?

I believe it has to be soda or lemonade, correct?
