It has changed my life - made it possible to eat normally, maintain a healthy weight, metabolize food properly. I am finally at a healthy cholesterol level and weight.
My insurance will stop covering it in 2026 (except for diabetics). Without insurance, it is $1300/month. I am so nervous. Anyone else in this boat and have a plan? |

It’s $500/month if you buy vials (vs pens) directly from Lilly. My insurance has never covered it so this is what I do.

| You pay out of pocket |
That's not affordable for a vast # of people who rely on the med. |
| WW has it, likely for less. Conversely, you could shore up your diet and exercise regine, titer yourself down (if possible) and stretch out your remaining supply, again if possible. |
| Ro has it for less than that per month. But they also have a monthly membership fee of some kind now that is around 145$/month for doctor access, so it may add up to the same $500 as a PP mentioned above. |
Perhaps it is now time to stop? Seems the mediation has worked and now it is time for you to put in the work and keep up the healthy lifestyle. |
Oh dear God shut up |
| Maybe try the vials pp posted above and stretch it out. I am on 2.5 maintenance dose every 12 days or so. If you can do it just twice a month, combined with networking perhaps, it will be approx 250 a month. Play with dosage per vials and timing |
+1. Can you afford $500 a month, OP? |
| Don't panic until the end of the year. Price could very well go down again with new meds coming to market. |
| is compounded semaglutide the same as zepbound? |
No, zepbound is a name-brand, non-compounded tirzepatide. |
| I dunno, diet and exercise? |
This is the way. I'm still on the starter dose (and staying here until I stop losing weight), which is $350/month. |
