Is it a good time to resign and look for a new job

Would you wait or take administration's package offer?

It’s a terrible time to be looking for a job.

Why don’t you look for a new job and make your assessment based on what open positions you find and what potential employers you hear back from once you apply.

My mom used to say, one in the hand is better than two in the air.

Yes. The private sector is so much better! I’ve tripled my salary and do 1/2 the work.

It's a good time to retire.

Is your industry hiring? Can you get into another industry?
If I go out looking for a job in person, every company that is hiring in my industry, would hire me on the spot.
Make yourself invaluable in the next company, and also learn to invest on your own. As a result of my own investing, I don't have to work for money anymore.
Forget about 401k, TSP, 403B, or any package. They are all holding you back.
Not to brag, but I have been rehired about 10 times. Three of my ex bosses call me to come back to work every few months. One even came to my work to see how I'm doing.
I do get business cards as I work in case I want to change jobs.
I never set out to do that. I didn't even know that was a thing until I started to get job offers as I worked. Now I refer people without experience and they do get hired, because I'm referring them. Not sure if all this is possible in other industries, but definitely mine.
I do work very part time right now to help out for very small pay, but it's the amount of money I save for the owner that makes me valuable.
So, two thing: invest on your own, so work is not even needed and/or be valuable so that they will be looking for you.

If this is something you are considering, start job hunting and “retire” when you find a new job.

It's a good time to resign from the Trump administration, yes.

Don't resign until you have a new job. Terrible time to be looking.
