Can you eat the guts of a lobster?

The greenish stuff? I think it tastes so good and my spouse is grossed out by it. But it's not...bad for you. ... is it??

It was my grandfather's favorite part and he ate it at least weekly in the summer. He lived to 99 for whatever that's worth.

Sometimes there's coral colored roe. Yummy.

It filters the contaminants in the water so can make you sick depending on its environment. Where are you getting the lobster?

Higher risk for food borne illness such as parasites, bacteria, viruses, etc. Same as shrimp who haven't been deveined and still have the poop in them.
