Soccer during recess?

Public school parents,
do your kids play soccer frequently during recess? If so, are they playing on a court, on a field? If a field, has the it deteriorated over time from heavy use?

Mine play on a “field”
That’s a relative term tbh
Field is no more worn down then any other part of the playground

Sometimes it's grass, sometimes it's on the black top. I don't think it's ever on a "nice" field.

I have 1 kid in elementary and 1 in middle school. They both play soccer most days, and it’s on grass.

The field the kids play on during recess is also used by recreational sports leagues during non-school hours. It looks pretty good considering the wear and tear on it, but it's meant for recreation, not to be pretty.

My rising 8th grader is at a private but it’s small and they don’t really have a field. She plays on the blacktop. She did in 7th anyway. Hoping it’s not weird in 8th and they still do.

This already happens in Hispanic culture- some decent play but hardly (at higher levels) very tactical and - often too much dribble. Better play comes from one place - sorry to say - ‘club academy play.

1) Plays every day in a DC Public School.
2) I have no clue what they play on. I don't care. I hope it is in the hallways so he learns how to navigate tight spaces.

My kids play nonstop all the time. Elementary School kid plays on a not so nice overgrown MCPS field, sometimes on the blacktop. He plays with younger kids. He plays older kids. He plays with anyone he can. Middle Schooler plays soccer during his lunch break, and then they come home and play in the backyard against each other. Older son packs a ball for his vacations and dribbles and juggles until he peaks the interest of local kid and they start scrimmaging.

There some truth to PP and you. Spend the U-littles at a non joysticking environment and then around U11-U13 move to a more club academy environment to learn how to more effectively use your skills
