| My daughter is wondering what it is like having to take the shuttle to the campus out in Manassas for so many engineering classes. Whole that facility is amazing, it gives us pause. Also, it seems the shuttle does not run on weekends? How is that possible! How can kids work on projects if they cannot get out there to do work on a weekend? Hoping someone knowledgeable can chime in. |

| Good luck to GMU and its recent Orangefool troubles |

Thanks, yes, that is another stupid situation we are monitoring, ugh!

| NP. I am curious. Which engineering courses are in Manassas? |
| Shuttles run on the weekend during the Fall/Spring semesters. It does kind of suck though and not something I would choose. |
| GMU has engineering? |
Yes, we’ve hired engineers from GMU. |

GMU = UPitt in 21st century
Both were sleepy commuter schools back in the day and when Fairfax was much more rural. |
DP. Hiring Manager here. GMU has had engineering for decades. They do not offer all possible engineering degrees. For example, I do not think they have an AeroE degree. We have hired several EEs and ComputerEs from there. All of them have been bright, capable, and valuable additions to our team. |
Bump. Does no one know which set of classes require the shuttle? |
Yes. Keep up. |
It's not stupid. The complaints about discrimination were brought by multiple faculty members. This was issued by the US Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights. The Department of Education opened this investigation due to a complaint filed with OCR by multiple professors at GMU who allege that the university illegally uses race and other immutable characteristics in university policies, including hiring and promotion. This alleged conduct creates a racially hostile environment and is prohibited under Title VI and its implementing regulation at 34 CFR § 100.3(C), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in the employment practices of educational institutions that receive federal funds. According to the complaint, GMU leadership have promoted and adopted unlawful DEI policies from 2020 through the present, which give preferential treatment to prospective and current faculty from “underrepresented groups” to advance “anti-racism.” |
