Where are 2014 “MLS Next” teams playing?

What league are u12 top teams from Armour, Bethesda, pA Classics, SYC etc playing in next year? Is it tied in to the mls next new tier? Last year they were n that NAL league, but right now its website is broken.

Do you mean "pre MLS B team" teams
Or "pre MLS next/A teams/"home grown" teams?

It is a good question. The NAL league for 2013 teams was not very fun this past year. There were just a handful of teams that played each other repeatedly. Hopefully the 2014s have a better experience this year.

They are in the Mid Atlantic Academy League. Got some real good teams and some pretty average teams in it.

Just 6 teams total, that's not really a league.

9 teams total, not 6. Not sure where you got your info from. League, smeague. Kids getting ready for their shot at making a MLS Next team in 2026, tougher the games the better.

Expected to be the same league as last year, Mid-Atlantic NAL. Yes, links taken down in transition as it only held the schedule.

EDP leagues are out and none of the potential teams are there.

BSC, Achilles, SYC, Armour, PA Classics, Sporting and Delco.

Might be one or two additions with the MLS 2 clubs but not confirmed.

2014 Armour is in EDP U13. Can they do that and the NAL Mid-Atlantic League?

Yes. SYC does the same thing with their teams. They play up to meet the arms race of ego.

Kids play up and parents feel good. Kids spent needless time adding mileage and losing touches to kids staying in 9v9. Spanish kids are still playing 7v7. And we wonder why we are behind. The different won’t be noticeable until U15/U16 but these actions compound.

I believe Achilles was the only club that stayed at 9v9 before MLSNext at U13

Last year it was definitely just six clubs. They had two divisions and each club had a top team and second team. A few of those clubs are showing up in EDP brackets this year. Maybe NAL always takes down their website between season and just leaves a broken link page up for a few weeks, but that’s a weird way to do it. Overall the whole thing looks like it has been put together with little planning or cohesion and it sure doesn’t look like some elevated development environment.

Two of the best 2014’s in the DMV, not on my kids club, will be in NAL.

The top two ranked 2014’s clubs in the country are Celtic and Coppermine and you will see over the next 3-5 years those boys get individually passed by my kid and the others who don’t expect Ritz Carlton level service from this system and willing to simply play in a parking lot if needed against the best technical players possible, not the best teams who have been arranged to win via tactical and physical superiority which is not the aim at this age.
