I don't know what you are asking.

You can take DE at JR and get credit at GW, Georgetown, Howard and several other colleges. If you want the DE to show up on your DCPS transcript, then you have to take the classes at GW.

Most of the top say 30 colleges won't accept these DE credits as college credits...even though the class is taught by GW and your kid took the exact same class as a GW freshman and transferred, they would accept the class.

Beyond that, it depends on college policy but fairly certain most public colleges will accept the credits.

See here: https://dcps.dc.gov/page/dual-credit

Students at any DCPS high school have some opportunity for dual enrollment.

Bard, Walls+GW, maybe others, have special programs.

Coolidge does through this application program:

Even Walls kids who graduate with an associate’s degree from GW start as freshmen at most universities (except GW). Universities want students to spend money on courses at their schools, not admit kids that stay for two years.

Are these schools no longer giving credits for AP courses?

Some schools do, some schools don’t. Some schools won’t give credit but will let you in a higher level course given your AP score.

Seriously? I admit I don't know anything about college admissions, but know a few kids in other midwestern states who've graduated in 3 years thanks for Early College credit access.

Lots of charter schools participate in OSSE's dual enrollment consortium. The list is here: https://osse.dc.gov/page/dc-dual-enrollment-consortium-program-participating-leas
General information on dual enrollment through OSSE for DC schools is here: https://osse.dc.gov/page/osse-dual-enrollment-opportunities

There are only 8 colleges that don’t award any AP credit…I think it’s Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Amherst, Williams, Caltech…and two others I can’t remember.

Every other college awards AP credit though schools like Princeton generally only give credit for STEM and language APs and only for 5s.

Those schools will usually accept DE credits as well…we are talking about just like the top 30 colleges.

I think the logistical hurdle/ trade off of not participating in high school activities would be a variable. It could show your child’s academic strength, sure, but is it really better than doing well in the classes offered at your high school?
