What kinds of alcohol do rich people drink in the summer?

Anonymous
I'm just curious.

I'm not wealthy nor do we really socialize with any wealthy people. Our lower and middle income peers drink domestic beer, hard seltzers, and easy cocktails (whisky coke, vodka lemonade, vodka orange juice, vodka tomato juice, vodka ginger beer, things like that). Are the rich who own multi-million dollar beach houses and multi-million boats casually drinking... chilled white wine, rose and champagne? I seriously have no idea.

I know some rich like expensive scotch and expensive bourbons but I'm unsure if those are spirits they drink in the summer.

We don’t drink
We are wealthy because we don’t spend money on things like over priced wine.

Oddly enough, I've noticed poor people drink swill but try to splurge on something nice now and then.

Middle class tend to splurge the most on higher end bottles and beer.

Upper class tend to become cheap again drink swill more often, while maybe having a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle for showing off.

Here's the wealthiest pro golfer, age 35, drinking what appears to be chilled white wine on holiday in Saint Tropez:

We’re reasonably wealthy. We drink the same things as you. I had a G&T yesterday for the first time in years. The real difference is where we drink, not what.

I really doubt rich people are day drinking Pappy bourbon from snifters on expensive boats and at their multi-million beach homes in Rehoboth, Maine's coast, Martha's Vineyard, Cape Code, Nantucket, and wherever else the rich congregate in the summer.

Mostly wine for us---we have a wine cellar in the basement.

Public beaches vs. $800+ night hotels, multi-million dollar boats and multi-million beach houses.

Interesting. Rich drink wine at the beach and/or on a boat for the day? What kind of wine would you bring for say a Saturday afternoon at the beach?

We are rich and drink everything from Bud bottles to $200+ bottles of Irish whiskey. My dad was rich and all of the booze he had was bottom shelf stuff like Virginia Gentleman.

My wealthy WASPy MIL and SIL drink cheap

We aren't boat people, and we don't drink on the beach when we go unless someone hosting a clambake in the evening---and then it's stuff like white wine, G&Ts, or beer. We host dinners at our house in the summer or go to friends' houses, and that's where alcohol is usually involved (although I always offer houseguests a drink if they're hanging around the pool in the afternoon).
