Jeff,
What is the reasoning for allowing an anonymous poster to use Hitler as an icon? I find it unsettling to see the bastard's mug in a post, with no warning. Can you zap it? It seems to cross a line. He murdered millions. |
I have many disagreements with the poster in question. If you read some of my exchanges with that poster, you will see that he/she believes I am anonymously sock puppeting responses to him/her and inciting other users to gang up on him/her. Nevertheless, the whole Hitler schtick is meant to be humorous. The fact that it is not funny to many posters and, to the contrary, is revolting to them, is just one more obvious fact to which the poster is oblivious. To the extent that it may have been funny at one time, it is pretty clearly played out at this point. But, again, don't expect much of reality to intrude into that poster's conscience. Despite my numerous differences regarding the poster and the practice of invoking Hitler, being a repugnant bore is generally allowed on DCUM. So, I don't know on what grounds I would remove the pictures.

As moderator, you could easily argue that this offends the community and your sense of decorum.
Maybe he/she will go away. It's just damn jarring to see that evil man's mug in a thread about in-laws. |
Free speech-it ain't always easy, but it's worth it. |
Good argument, Jeff.
Besides it just shows how foolish that person is. |
