| Wash all clothes immediately, shoes come out and air out but still smells bad. Any products to recommend to at least try to reduce the smell? |
| How is that possible? |
| Just wash it? Is it just a nylon bag? You can put it in the washing machine. |
| Put a fresh dryer sheet in the bag every couple of days. |
| Turn it inside out after every use so it can dry. The sweaty clothes are probably leaving moisture in there which makes a moldy swampy mess. |
| Pooph spray |
| Spray with rubbing alcohol. |
| Charcoal packets. Same ones we use for inside shoes. |
| Wash with Lysol laundry sanitizer liquid. The one with the black cap. Works for all sports clothes too. |

These work wonders. I understand. DD’s shoes and bag stink something awful despite all of the washing and airing out. I frequently wash her bag and everything in it and take out shoes immediately, throw one in each shoe and a couple in the bag

Washing should do the trick.
Do you have cats or is the bag near where cats are? They are dirty territorials animals and will spray or scent one up. |
This is an old theater/dance costume trick and we use it for my DD's gymnastics competition bag when we can't wash it during the season. It picks up the smell of her grip bag during meets and it's vile. You need to do it nightly after exposure to each day's stickiness. It doesn't magically turn back weeks of bad smells. We keep a spray bottle in the laundry room by the back door ready to go. |
| Wash it |
I love this stuff. When I can't find the one with the black cap, the other version is okay too. But in between washings, I use febreze when the bag starts to get smelly. I am not a big chemical person, but you have to pull out the big guns for this teen sports stuff. |
| The easiest way is to buy a boot dryer from Amazon. Dump everything out and put the bag on the warmer every night. The heat will kill the offending bacteria and shouldn’t be hot enough to damage the bag. If your kid has smelly shoes, stick those on the warmer as well. |
