Severance Pay at RIF

First of all, I'm very very sorry for those who are affected and RIFed by the government recently. It is a hard time and we wish you the very best as you move forward. Thank you for your service and be proud of yourself.
Now if I dare, can I ask a selfish question. Do you get the appropriate severance pay that the government is supposed to give you? Like what is described here https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/pay-administration/fact-sheets/severance-pay/ I'm asking as I'm also a fed. With the possibility of another round of RIF coming, I'm exploring my options and hope to make informed decisions. TIA. |

| Whether you get severance pay depend on your salary. High earners will not receive it. |

What’s your source for this? My benefits statement from OPM shows I would get severance as a GS 15– the only exception I know of is if you are eligible for discontinued service retirement (I think thats over 50 with 25 yrs or 25 yrs of service). |
