DCPS Application HS Strong in Science?

Are any of the application HS strong in science? I know Walls is a dcmom's favorite, but my understanding is that it's more humanities leaning.

Best science bet is Jackson-Reed or McKinley. So, if you aren't in bounds for JR - McKinley! Go do the tour - it's pretty cool.

Banneker?

Banneker doesn’t have as many AP science or engineering courses or extracurriculars as McKinley.

McKinley. Also, Eastern isn't an application school and doesn't have as high-performing a student body, but a self-motivated kid might like the IB program or the health sciences academy. It's not too hard to get in through the lottery if you're out of bounds.

My son is at McKinley and he's really fallen in love with science and math there. Their instruction so far as we've seen has been very good in both. His MAP scores have reflected this.

None and that is why DCPS no longer releases scores on science. It also is not going to help things with this terrible new science curriculum.

McKinley for sure!

McKinley. A friend's daughter graduated from there and earned a full scholarship to George Mason's forensic science program.
