Local full service travel co. In japan

Anonymous
We would like to travel to Japan this spring, and are looking for a travel company to do the planning. We would like a company local to Japan if possible.

Please send any recommendations and/or other recommendations for Japan with two elementary kids.

Thanks!

I think Dragonfly tours may be based in the UK but when I was considering this that’s who my search came up with as a good option.

We ended up deciding to just do it ourselves and we were happy with that.

You do not need someone to plan. Pick a hotel based on recommendations like we did and list out the top sights you want to see. It’s very easy to do yourself

You should probably post your question on TripAdvisor forums in the Japan section. It might be hard to find a local company through DCUM alone.

FWIW, I live in Japan for two years in the 90s. Even then, pre- internet and mobile phones, everything like train signs were in English and you could pretty easily navigate if you did some research. I’m sure an American travel agent that specializes in Asia or Japan would be fine these days.

Now with Google, mobile phones and the internet being so prevalent, it is totally possible to plan and book this trip yourself, but I can understand why you’d want a travel agent, especially for Japan.

Pro tip: spend more time in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara, and less time in Tokyo.
