DS wants to major in business and he’s not going to a great school. He has the grades to go to a better university but wants to stay where his closest friends are.
I’m afraid he will struggle financially after graduation. I’m hearing about many graduates unable to secure jobs or acquiring very low paying jobs unless they go into Computer Science, Engineering, Nursing, Law or Medicine. What good jobs can he secure after graduation that pay well? Should he transfer instead to a better university such as Georgetown? Would that make a difference? |
| He sounds like a loser and will fail at life. |
| Sounds like a troll. |

My brother and all his friends all went to a mid tier LAC in the Midwest that DCUM has never heard of.
My little brother and his friends did business or related majors. A few years later They are all making BANK. You know what they have in common? The right personality. They can talk to people, negotiate, and have really awesome people skills. The school or major does not matter that much. |
Law enforcement is the best option out of college currently. |
Why are you asking whether he should transfer when he’s already told you he doesn’t want to transfer? |

I became a millionaire+ on minimum wage. I developed money skills I didn't even know existed. I learned to double my Roth yearly for example, while the professionals talk about 10%.
I wouldn't change schools, but add finance or economics, or he can start to take interest in it himself reading books and watching videos. |
| Major in accounting. There is a big shortage and it doesn’t matter where you go to school. |
| Encourage him to do internships and part-time jobs. Having people skills, knowing how to write a decent AI prompt, being able to write, having some job experience - and having some hustle - will serve him well. Seriously. No one is going to look at where he went to college after he gets that first job. All the better to be someplace that will pay for an MBA while he's working there. He'll be fine!! |

I have a bachelor and a master degree in math. I just got a job making $120k after 20 years.
My friends who studied business are now managing directors etc making a killing. I was the idiot. How about that lol |
| Sales! |
Those jobs are going bye bye. |
| You realize that college is not trade school, right? Right? |
| If they are sharp, have good EQ, they will be fine. |
You realize that for the vast majority of most people, it is, right? No, you don't. Most people don't come from money to see college as just a place to find yourself. |
