Golf lessons in or near Chevy Chase or Bethesda?

Anonymous
I'm looking for one-on-one golf lessons with a good pro in or near Bethesda or Chevy Chase for a teenager. Can anyone recommend? At our club back home in the midwest, pros at private clubs supplement their income by giving private lessons to people who are not club members. Is this not a thing in the DVM? I've called a couple of clubs near our house and both said they do not offer non-member lessons.

I could try the public courses, but (a) they are farther away; and (b) I suspect the better pros are at private clubs? Is this a mistaken assumption?

Advice welcome.

Pretty unlikely that any of the DC area club pros are taking nonmembers, unfortunately. It’s not unheard of for an exception to be made if and only if someone who is a member and knows the pro well recommends you and even so the lessons would be ballpark $300 an hour for a lot of the pros at a Congressional or a TPC Potomac.

Would be a bit of hike but the Eisman golf academy in VA (I believe it’s at Laurel Hill GC in Lorton) has churned out a number of excellent collegiate players. Not sure about pricing but absolutely worth a look if your teenager is serious.

This is not my experience. Most clubs give instruction to non members. TPC Potomac, Kenwood, Columbia etc. Give them a call.
