near-miss--Delta commuter plane and USAF B52 bomber

Commuter was headed to Minot, ND, which does not have radar--but the AF base tower does and did not warn the delta there was another plan in the area. Delta pilot did a sudden turn to avoid the B52.

Apparently the AF plane had done or was doing a flyover at the Minot State Fair, and also there have been other near-misses in the area.

They didn't crash. It's fine.

More seriously, I have recently learned how frequently air shows involve unintentional-and-sometimes-fatal crashes. While commercial airplanes are safe, other types of aircraft are not.

The military has its own priorities, and they sometimes do not line up in the same order as civil aviation.

The airliner would have been talking to the tower at the civilian airportt, not the tower at the base.
