VDA friendlies Labor Day

VDA has hosted a VDA Friendlies tournament over Labor Day for the past couple years but they don't have anything on their website for this year. Does anyone know if the VDA friendlies are happening again this year?

Who’s got the best Labor Day tournaments?

Loudoun keeps moving theirs earlier - it’s tooo early now and Revolution runs theirs on Labor Day but historically the competition level has been very poor because of that timing.

Not many good options except Copa Rayados between those two.

Loudoun keeps moving theirs earlier - it’s tooo early now and Revolution runs theirs on Labor Day but historically the competition level has been very poor because of that timing.

Not many good options except Copa Rayados between those two.

How’s the revolution tourney over Labor Day? We are signed up for that one. Younger age kid.

Mid level competition generally, they draw their buddy clubs but not top clubs overall. Copa and Loudoun Premier are the strongest tournaments at the top brackets in the summer. Copa is really good, and hot!

This about sums it up. Although Loudoun Premier is starting to fade. Just really bad timing with people trying to take vacation before school starts. The competition level has slowly come down over the last few years. Throw in the fact that it’s mid August and usually brutally hot. Revolution ins same weather and slightly lesser completion levels.

Copa has become a much bigger draw with teams from NC to PA and is clearly the biggest end of summer tourney in the area now (at least for boys).

Trying to vacation in mid-August? To each his own, but that is after practices start. I think the Loudoun one is really early this yer because Labor Day is September 1, and a lot of the ECNL teams start games the last weekend in August every year. It just forced the tournament way back because of the way the calendar worked out. Next year it should be August 22/23 which is more reasonable for most teams.

It’s not happening this year. Va rev cup posted that VDA is playing there.
