Fall shirt dress -- what shoes??

I have just bought a few cute fall shirt dresses for work. What shoes are we wearing this fall? Are the short boots still cute for this?

Ballet flats or loafers until it’s cool enough for boots.

How long is the dress? I saw a midi length shirt dress paired with loafers recently that looked nice. Otherwise I see sandals for summer, ballet flats for fall, maybe because its too early for boots.

Not fashionably I can’t, no. I have terrible fashion sense. I wore uniforms my whole childhood. And in my work life it’s important to me to fit in, not stand out for being either too fashion forward or too frumpy. I want to look basic, put together, and just right. I want to be overlooked visually (it has to do with my job, I know I sound nuts but I don’t want to give too many details)

Yes, short ankle boots are still cute for this. Brown riding boots are coming back into style (Yay!) and those might look cute too. It would really be helpful to see the actual dress.
