What does Winter Track look like? (FCPS)

My freshman tried spring track - he enjoyed it and had decent times I think.
He’d like to try track this winter. Last winter was so cold - did kids run outside despite frigid temps? Also - are there club teams that practice in the Fall? DS is interested in sprinting so doesn’t want to do XC at his HS. Thank you |

there are several AAU track teams in the area that start practice in May/June and go through the fall. House of Speed and Spartan Chosen are the two that kids from our HS run for.
Winter Track is outside. Sprinters run some and do weights inside. It is very similar to outdoor track except the big meets are in an indoor facility- either PG county, Episcopal HS, Virginia Beach, Liberty or VMI |

| The distance are a little different for indoor- 55m, 300m, 500m and 1000m. The indoor track is only 200m compared to 400m outdoor |
