Salty Dog Hilton Head

Anonymous
Has any one been to the South Marina area recently and witnessed the construction around the Salty Dog? How bad is the construction noise? We love the Salty Dog but is it even worth visiting now? Or is this serene spot and the South Beach Marina not worth the headache?

We ate at the one in Bohicket near Kiawah and it was very meh.

I don't understand peoples fascination with Salty Dog. It is mediocre at best.

Please read the question which pertains to the noise and construction not your views of the establishment.

The salty dog is very bad.

As someone whose family owns a “destination” restaurant/apparel store, that place is a shithole. Bad, overpriced, low quality food.

Precisely.

Wow, I’m not the op, but posters are so rude. You don’t have to share your two cents on something unrelated.

Jeez- it has always been just a nice place to bike to and grab a frosty drink. We look forward to it every year. Anyone know the answer to the question?

No, the construction had ruined it. Stay away.

I got really sick last time I was forced to go. They clearly are not microwaving enough. Worth mentioning to anyone who wants to go, regardless of construction.

Construction noise would be a benefit, a welcome distraction from the misfortune of being at Salty Dog.

T shirts are better than the food.

And taste better than the food!

But to answer the OP’s question: the construction ruined it.
