What do people wear to the end of season banquets?

We have had some parents wear tech suits in the past, and this has always rubbed me the wrong way.

This year will be our first one, but that is not where I thought this thread was going! Parents in tech suits!?!???

It’s 100 degrees and 97% humidity. Dress to be comfortable. No one really makes a big deal about what they wear at our pool.

Kids usually wear their bathing suit under their clothes so they can go right to the pool after the slideshow. My girls wear sundresses or rompers. I wear a long sundress because the bugs are bad on the grass. DH wears whatever won’t show sweat because it’s always so hot and humid

Oh man! I think I’ve worn mine to the last 5 banquets. It’s streched out and has lost its hydrophic coating. Maybe I can get a new one by Saturday. 🤞

This is really tacky unless you're trying to break a record and you let the other parents know ahead of time that you'll be suiting up.

I like a tech suit plus a business jacket. Business on the top…

Even then I think you need to make sure that you’re clearing it with the reps. Then coordinate with the parents in the other age groups to make sure that they don’t feel like you are trying to one up them with the latest suit that the Walsh sisters wore to Worlds.

Feelings matter in summer swimming so it’s always best to be on your toes and be proactive. You don’t want to make anyone cry because you wore a kneeskin!

I heard D1 teams host black tie events. Would a kneeskin be appropriate there if you wore dress shoes instead of crocs?

This thread wins the day. I opened it up thinking it would be the adult version of the 13 - 14 girls all discussing which sundress to wear beforehand.
