This builder has done so many beautiful homes in my neighborhood. Just gorgeous homes. They are one of the top builders in McLean and North Arlington. Very sad. |
| It happens. My buddy bought a home in Milton DE back in Fall 2019 to be built. The builder almost declared BK and was on top of him to break deal. By time they started construction. in 2020 home prices were shooting up and material and labor costs through roof. Builder lost money on that built. He only had 1/3 presold so he just jacked prices on last 2/3rds of home. Imagine if he had sold more and was building homes at 2021/2022 prices selling them at 2019 prices. He have to go BK |
not any more |

Thank you and let this be a lesson to future OPs!

| You find it sad that a biulder overextended themselves financially? I don’t find that sad, I find it to be poor business decisions. So many builders are floating a ton of lots right now that they cannot sell. They got greedy assuming this areas building/sales market would never dip. |
| Says it was facing a lawsuit by a disgruntled customer (paywalled so I can't read it all). Very good way to shut down the suit and start again. |
| Quick search shows they have poor reviews on yelp and complaints with the Better Business Bureau. |
| Their website is pulled down. I’m pretty sure they made loads of money for years that are protected from the bankruptcy. So not really sad. |
| Yikes. I am never buying anything that isn't done. |
| Lawsuit plus regional economic slowdown - they couldn't continue. |
| why do you find it sad op? Bankruptcy does not mean they will be on the street. Outcome of poor management and greed...and they will be back. |
Well, lots of builders deal with the same things and are fine, so obviously there's more to the story here. |
| More than just lawsuit and slow down - they have engaged in multiple unethical practices over the years and this has caught up with them. Seems like great design does not overcome questionable practices |
All the lots sold around us are being built, none is sitting, but there is also a glut of new homes over 4m and they aren’t selling. IDK what’s going to happen to all these builders who have completed their homes and have others in the pipeline, but people aren’t buying at these prices. Does it also mean that people will soon start buying older homes that used to be tear downs and remodeling them instead? |
