Lincoln reputation and other SUV

Anonymous
What are thoughts on current Lincoln SUVs of last few years? I like the looks of the two small models. I usually buy the usual Honda and Toyotas but want to branch out. Are they reliable these days or will this be a maintenance nightmare? I am also considering Kia, Hyundai and Genesis.

omg NO. They are unreliable and marketed to the elderly. Also Kia and Hyundai suck too; cheaply made and the engines are underpowered. Stick with Honda or Toyota.

What about Genesis? Rave reviews, topping the lists everywhere, but still made by Kia and Hyundai?

Most Hyundai, Kia and Genesis vehicles will soon be made in Alabama. Being seen driving one pretty much tells the world you’re a maga and supporter of southern racism.

I wouldn't buy Hyundai/Kia but above is such a stupid false statement.

Honda apparently has had some issues with transmissions and are no longer topping the lists. RAV4 is pricey for what you get due to high demand. Lexus RX design is not my thing. What is left?
European models like BMW, Audi, Volvo, Volkswagen look great but have costly routine maintenance according to friends.

Agree. Would you buy Genesis? People are flocking to that car.

No Genesis. Depends on how long you keep your car. If you keep it until it dies, don't get them. If you plan to trade in after a few years, then I can see some logic in getting one.

I keep until it dies and I don’t want expensive maintenance. Am I stuck with Toyota? I’m so bored with cars right now and the Lexus design makes me think of an insect for some reason (sorry, it’s just me). Need a cushy ride with my aging body and long business trips. Anything else out there reliable with some personality and power?

Good, they're made by Ford, which I've had good luck with.

Honda or Toyota fine, too. Would steer clear of Kia, Hyundai, or Genesis, personally.

You don’t think Honda and Toyota engines are underpowered?

Just lease a Mercedes every 3 years.

I have a Mazda CX-50 and really like it. You could look at that or the CX-5.

I don’t see lots of genesis. I see lots of telluride. Time will tell how they hold up. Reviews on initial quality weren’t great.

A lot of engines are arguably underpowered now to be more environmentally friendly. Large SUVs with underpowered engines that previously had V-8s....
