Rising 2nd graders were expected to take the COGAT this fall. I believe they were the last group to take the NNAT as 1st graders. However, the official AAP site does not specify it anymore. Anyone else aware of this change? |
Maybe there's a contract recompete? Testing schedule still says some sort of "nationally normed ability test"
https://www.fcps.edu/academics/advanced-academic-programs-aap/identification-and-placement-advanced-academics-program-1 But yes, looks like it's no longer guaranteed to be the CogAT. |
Maybe they are going by the HOPE scale alone? |
Although removed from AAP section, it is still listed an as form of a test in 1st grade (NNAT) and 2nd grade(COGAT). Is there an official confirmation that there is no NNAT in 1st grade? |
So we are eliminating all objective criteria? |
I'm curious to know as well. |
There still remains the HOPE scale. That’s objective. |
No, they say they are going to use a nationally normed ability test, just not which one. There are lots of other options - OLSAT springs to mind immediately, for example. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was supposed to be a joke, right? |
Objectively what? Objectively bad? |
