What do you typically do when you need or your family needs a ride to the airport? |
Uber |
Uber or Metro. We drop off/pick up on weekends mostly. But my kids are studying overseas so when they leave, come back we are really happy to drive if we can (one is coming back tomorrow to Dulles snd will take metro as we work) because we have not seen them, or we will not see them for months. My DH has to fly to Chicago for a three day trip? Meh, he can take metro |
Drive to the airport and pay for long term parking. |
Typically?? It all depends on time of the flight and schedules. |
Uber |
Usually drive and park but will do metro or r BWI bus if the time works. We are in moco and Metro to Dulles is not useful. I hate long cab/Uber rides so avoid them
|
This. This thread is like asking people their net worth and nothing else. |
Usually long term parking if it’s the whole family. When I’m traveling for work, either uber or dh drives me and I get reimbursed for the mileage.
I did use a car service once for the whole family because we flew out of IAD and returned to DCA (tickets were weirdly cheaper that way). |
We taxi to IAD as it’s close. Their in house taxi service is good.
For DCA, our recent trips have been short so parking made sense. |
How do you do BWI bus? |
Either we park or we get a family member to drop off and pick up. Our kids are late teens to mid 20s so the past 9 or 10 years have been really easy in this regard. |
Runs every hour from Shady Grove. https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/201?schedule_date=07%2F16%2F2025&direction=0&origin=11915&destination=3317 |
I prefer to park at the airport if flying out of Dulles. It doesn’t end up being that much more than an uber or cab since we are in Arlington. For DCA we might park or get a ride, metro occasionally |
Uber. Every time. |
