Partial knee replacement - outcomes?

Anonymous
If you had a partial knee replacement as a relatively young and fit person, 50ish or younger) how has your post-recovery experience been? Were you able to return to an active lifestyle? Is the pain gone or just better? Are there things you thought you would be able to do but can’t? Do you regret it? Would you make the same decision over again? Have you had to have a subsequent surgery? If so, how long after the PKR? Thank you!

I did some research in this area a few years ago. Outcomes were very good. The only consideration for me would be- will I need further surgery down the rode and what would the outcomes be then (as a second surgery). There’s not enough data to support these as the partial knee replacements are still fairly new. While, this would be a consideration for me, I probably would still do it as there is a lot of of harm due to inflammation secondary to arthritis also.

PT here. The patients with partials either have a super quick recovery or don't do well and end up having a full within 5-7 years. Hard to say which one you will be.
