Welcoming new students

Anonymous
What could the school/PTO give away at an event for new PreK/K students that would make them feel welcomed into the community? I'm hoping it will become a keepsake. I have about $100 to spend on 75 students and four weeks until the event.

Thank you for your ideas!!

Our ES does a Tea and Sympathy for K parents on the first day of school. Breakfast foods, and PTA parents who have been there for a few years to reassure them things will be fine

Just organize some sort of meetup for the new families and provide very small refreshments (popsicles or lemonade or whatever).

100% popsicles!

Anything else for <$2 is going to be junk.

We have the individual bags of goldfish and put a note next to them with "Welcome to School Name, You are o"fish"ally in PreK" We had waters, juice boxes and the kiddies played on the school playground and parents were able to speak with the teachers and meet other parents.
