DS needs a new backpack as he heads to middle school this fall. Pottery Barn Kids and State seem too childish for him at this stage — what’s next?
He already has a backpack for sports equipment. Looking for something strong enough for textbooks, iPad, etc. and durable enough for a tween-ager. TIA! |
North Face has school backpacks that are strong and sturdy. Herschel is a great brand, Canadian made which means good quality. |
My kid uses LL bean my other uses Adidas |
Look at Eddie Bauer. I just bought 3 on sale, not sure if the sale is still going.
The Trailhead 25L is pretty sturdy but the Stowaway 20L is smaller and lighter if your kid is small. The Robson 30L is sturdy but huge. |
My 5th grader has a Nike backpack and I plan to do something similar for him once he gets to middle. North Face, Nike, Adidas-something sporty. |
DS used jansport last yr and it was ok but we just bought an adidas backpack for 8th bc its bigger. |
Adidas, Nike, under armor, north face. |
12 yo has a great heavy duty adidas backpack with a slot for his school Chromebook plus plenty of room for the textbooks. |
Swiss Gear. You can usually find them for cheaper at Costco and/or Sam’s Club. |
Jansport Don’t make things harder than they need to be. |
This |
LL Bean |
+1 Anything reasonably sturdy and of mediocre quality or better is fine. Jansport works great. My sons did not care anyway when asked, just requested it be solid color. |
I don’t think rising-9th DS has ever carried a textbook home. He has some folders for papers but his backpack is mostly for carrying his sports equipment back and forth. The backpack stays in the locker all day at school anyway. He picked out something on Amazon a couple of years ago and still uses it. |
Thank you!! |
