For everyday use I use an Off Clean Feel because it’s unscented. If we are going in woods, I use Off Deep Woods.

OFF Botanicals Insect Repellant IV

Active ingredient is p-Menthane-3,8-diol - 10 %

I feel like it works just as well (in other words, not perfectly) as DEET. I did a Google search and apparently there is at least one study that supports it working as well as DEET but don't know how strong that evidence is. It doesn't seem to cause respiratory irritation for me like DEET does.
