For the DCUMers who swear Emory is a Strivers second choice and parchment is lying.

Cornell 2x
Umich
McGill 2x
Hopkins
WashU 2x
Berkeley
USC 2x
BC
NYU
Gatech 2x
CMU
Etc

Is this a pro Emory or anti Emory post…I can’t tell.

Emory at Oxford's yield is below 17%. Not good.

Also was surprised to read that SMU's yield is only about 18%.

The one who picked Emory over Cornell got money from Emory. Cornell didn’t give them anything. As the parent of a current Cornell student, I support this.

For premed, would dump Cornell Umich McGill Hopkins Berkeley USC BC NYU Gatech CMU.
None of above is ideal for premed.

Will choose between Emory and WashU. Between these two, purely personal preference.

Never heard of it.

This conversation is meaningless unless you know how much Emory reduced tuition for these students.

It's always about money.

Um, you don't know Students that get into bothe Emory College and Oxford College get to choose which one they want to go to... Most wouldn't choose Emory college. If you remove the students that choose Emory college then Oxfords yeild doubles.

Financial aid is similar for most elite privates.

I would pick Emory over Berkeley, Hopkins, USC, Gatech, CMU for Business and a few others majors as well.

Yes, my mistake. I shouldn’t have type “the” at the start of the sentence. One of the two said it was about money.

OP, why do you care what people think of Emory? It’s a great school. You don’t need to prove it to anyone, especially some anonymous forum.

I think it matters, private forums like this spread info (whether true or untrue) to the pta meetings and country club tennis etc.

And all the "elite privates" (trying not to vomit here) do exactly the same shenanigans. They have algorithms to tell them who is most likely to accept an enhanced offer. They poach kids as part of their normal operating procedure, from institutions they perceive to be rivals or better.

Emory is not special in any way.
