Q: is this a “call someone” deal?
We have a two story home with relatively new gutters (5ish years) with guards on them. However, it’s clear that there’s a fair amount of stuff now sitting on top of the guards. In addition, a one-story garage with gutters in the same condition but obv easier to reach. Not opposed to calling someone, but I am cheap, pretty handy, and not opposed to getting dirty myself. DH for various reasons is NOT going to take care of this so let’s just not go there. Is there an easy and safe way to do this myself? We have a pressure washer and a battery powered leaf blower. Is there some kind of attachment that i could use from the ground? those 2nd story gutters are REALLY high! |
| It’s okay to be self-sufficient but don’t be stupid over $100. There are certain things you should not try yourself. This is one of them. |

Please call someone. My husband does it himself, with a double ladder, but it's very dangerous and I would not advise anyone to do this.
|
| Our neighbor fell off his roof while cleaning the gutters. Broke his back and is lucky he wasn’t paralyzed or killed. |
| I’m handy too. I take care of the lower gutters but not our 2nd story ones. Just not worth it. Pay for this. |

Use a gutter cleaning service. Washington Consumer Checkbook has ratings.
Working on a roof is not for amateurs trying to save a few $. |
Sure they make extension wands for that, shaped like a big candy cane. Look online for some. If you decide to hire someone, check FB or CL or if you have an extension ladder most any yardman or HS kid will do it for the right amount. |
| Call someone. You don’t want to end up with permanent brain damage. |
| Honestly, we have a really big house and our gutter cleaning people (a big local company) charge $210 to clean our gutters. We get it done 2x a year. It's worth it. |
Wow, should put that in the Jobs subforum. Many people asking about second jobs or jobs for their kids. That's dang good money for a few min of work. |
I would never let my kid clean gutters on a 2 story roof. I love him too much. |
+1 And make sure the company you use is fully insured. |
| You can try to get a telescopic pole with a curved bristle brush |
| Our whole average sized house was $150 a month ago. Just pay someone. |
NP 🙄 Do you say the same do your doctor? “Good money for a few mins of work?” I would want a professional as I don’t want the liability. So I use one. |
