How painful is mag seed placement compared to core needle biopsy?

Had a core needle biopsy which was moderately painful. Now need mag seed placement prior to excisional biopsy.

How painful is mag seed placement? I believe the mag seed will be with ultrasound whereas my core needle biopsy was with the mammogram machine.

It depends on how deep and if they numb it. I’ve had doctors not numb and it hurt. I don’t like meds but much better with a bit of numbing.

The biopsy was worse for me because they didn’t seem to know where they were going. Both mag seed and the lumpectomy were much easier.

Haven't had seed placement but have had a bunch of core needle biopsies and wire placement for excision biopsies and have found being emphatic about needing more lidocaine than they'd planned is helpful. (Bonus, when they went to inject the dye for the lymph node biopsy, much of the site was already somewhat numb).
