Looking for a nice family friendly beach vacation with a swimmable ocean. Hoping to stay away from Sargassum. If it's easily drivable to Orlando all the better. Where do you recommend going? The West of the East Coast. Thanks |
Clearwater beach |
Just go to a water park. The ocean is awful this time of year |
Where is it awful? |
Red tide can be an issue in July and August. Research this before going, they monitor and have forecasts for how bad it's going to be.
Its sometimes possible to drive an hour north or south if it's bad where you are staying. |
Is that mostly a Gulf issue? I think the ocean side is typically okay. |
Does anyone know if Florida beaches are experiencing sargassum like in the Caribbean? |
No.
Ckearwater, Pass A Grille. |
What??? FL in summer sucks. Go off season. Clearwater is nice but not in July. |
Are you stupid? Florida is not family friendly There are no beaches drivable from Orlando that rare nice they are filled with white low class trash |
New poster Here are red tide updates for the whole state https://myfwc.com/research/redtide/statewide/ |
but the east side gets sargassum; west side doesn't. So you are screwed either way if there is red tide on the west. https://www.wusf.org/environment/2025-06-06/record-breaking-sargassum-coming-some-florida-beaches I went to FL beaches once in the summer. Never ever ever again. Worst summer vacation ever. |
Nothing in Florida or even South Carolina is nice in July, but that's what OP asked for. I like Marco Island. |
Bless your heart! |
Summer IS the off season in Florida. |
