Hotel on beach in Bethany or Rehobeth

Anonymous
We’re just doing a quick getaway of a few nights, last minute and flexible on dates. Want an ocean view either in Rehoboth or Bethany. Can anyone recommend? I’m not familiar with the area. Thank you.

The only ocean view hotel that I can think of in Bethany is the residence inn. There isn't a ton of do in Bethany and the beach is very small.

I like Rehoboth a lot better. Not a lot of ocean front hotels though. There is the Henlopen which is kind of meh. I like the Avenue Inn

and the Bellmoor

but both are about a block back. The owner of the Avenue just opened a place oceanfront in dewey beach just down the street, but I have not stayed there.

If you go to ocean city, the beach is a lot bigger, and there are a lot more hotels to choose from, but it's not as walkable. In Rehoboth and Bethany you can park your car and walk everywhere.

In Bethany there's also the Addy Sea. I think they don't allow young children, in case that's an issue. https://www.addysea.com

Very few hotels on the water as PP said. I think the Henlopen hotel is another option in Rehobeth. They may be condos.

They have both.

Atlantic Sands in Rehoboth has water and partial water views.

Would not recommend. Homeless shelters have good views occasionally as well.

Agree. This place is nasty.

You are going to have a hard time finding that this time of year on short notice.

Better luck in OCMD.

Stay in Ocean City, MD towards the north end (the blocks are numbered off coastal highway and you want to stay above 60th Street if you want a quieter experience. The boardwalk is where the numbers begin.)

OCMD beach is wider and less crowded.

Go on the Bethany Beach webcam on a sunny day and youll see how crowded it is. Ditto for Rehoboth.

Drive into Bethany or Rehoboth for dinner or walking around if you like.

The oceanfront hotel in Bethany is insanely expensive. Google it.

You might be able to get a 3 night rental at a condo in OCMD.
