What is the time frame you want to stay at a job?

What is an ideal time period and what is too long or too short? I am working on my resume and in a 25 year career- I have an 8 and 6 year stint sprinkled with some 2 years stints

I’ve had 2-3 year stints before 30. Then 7.5 and 10 year stints at huge companies with lots of opportunities. Then 3 years after that.

I don't think there's an ideal time. Most people have long stretches broken up by short stretches. I know people who move every 2-3 years and while I understand why, I don't think it's "ideal" or something employers are looking for.

At my first jobs I stayed at each about 2 years and then felt the need for change. Then I went into project based work, where the change was built in, and I’ve been there 17 years! My husband’s jobs have generally been 2-6 years with one exception that was a bad fit / only a few months.

3-6 years, sprinkled with a contractor role (2 years) and a small company (1.5 year). Small shady company wanted to hire a 12 Month contractor but made up a high level job. Will never work for small again.
