Where are people finding good quality, well fitted women's pants now? I miss Banana Republic from a long, long time ago, when they sold great pants in colors that were neutral, but not boring. Good natural fabrics. For summer, I'd like to find pants in that nice type of cotton that had a good smooth finish to it, fabric that is almost impossible to find now. In good neutrals like olive, ochre, and a dark khaki. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I just tried to find this at Theory and wasn't impressed. All the pants were so thin that the pocket lining showed through and no natural materials.
I found a pair of cotton navy slacks at JCrew that are extremely normal - but they were on clearance and I'm not sure what they have in terms of other colors/online availability. Years ago Loft had a great line of these types of pants. But mine are all finally getting to the end of their life (held up for 10 years!) and I'm struggling to replace them. |
I don’t know if they still have them, but a year ago, I was surprised to find some wonderful pants at Talbots — after trying on every pair of black pants that they had in my size. I bought one pair and ordered another pair — I liked them just that much. |

I think that they wear well and don’t wrinkle |
Thanks for these responses! And for feeling my pain. HAH. Glad I'm not the only one noticing the lack of quality now! |
I've gotten good pants at Talbots. They have sizes for different body types. Or at least they used to. |
I also have bought some nice pants at Talbots. Their Italian wool clothing was terrific. |
I bought some from Ann Taylor. I tried on a bazillion pants at every price point and these were the best |
Maeve pants from Anthropologie are the only thing that comes close to those old banana republic pants. |
