| In doing laundry today I realized the underwear I use when my period is ... perioding is well over 20 years old. They are worn out and stained. I need to replace them. Does anyone else who is a size 18/20 or 2X have suggestions for all cotton bikini style that's not too expensive? I looked at Amazon but have never worn any brand of underwear other than Gap or Aerie for my entire 30's and 40's. What I am replacing is from Lane Bryant circa maybe 2003? Better late than never, right? |

I don't know and we are different sizes, but I'm currently living in Asia for work and I will never view period planning the same way again after experiencing the amazing trend here for extra, extra long maxipads that are super thin but go up super high in front and back of your underwear. The first time I inadvertently bought a pack, I was shocked at how absurdly long they are, but I quickly realized that this meant I didn't need special underwear because these mean that underwear won't get stained and you won't bleed around the pad in your sleep. They are amazing!
I use tampons as well most days, but the pads themselves mean no underwear stains no matter what, ever. They look crazy, but are very slim and I have no idea why American pads aren't like this. Maybe get some from Amazon from Singapore or Japan? | Why not get briefs. Amazon is full of them. Jockey. Hanes. More secure for whatever you are using that overflows and so your pants get bled on. |

| I'm roughly your size and also wear cotton bikinis (and my period ones are ancient as well). I bought two packs of the Amazon cotton bikinis based on suggestions I saw here, and they fell apart on the first (delicate cycle) wash. The waistbands separated from the panty. I don't recommend. Unfortunately, I have not found a suitable substitute for my all cotton bikinis circa early 2000s. |

Lane Bryant cotton underwear is still pretty good.
I would consider sizing up, as everything is cut "cheeky" now, so I size up so I won't have to be pulling underwear out of my butt all day.. |

| The black Amazon basics bikini underwear has held up well for me. I have had less success with the colored/printed versions where the elastic seems to fray quickly after washing. |
