2025 Measles Cases Are the Highest in 33 years....and we're only halfway through 2025!!! This is horrifying. Keep your kids safe and vax them.

Falling childhood vaccine coverage and a large, smoldering outbreak that was kindled in an undervaccinated pocket of West Texas have driven the United States to a troubling new milestone: There have been more measles cases in the US this year than any other since the disease was declared eliminated a quarter-century ago.

There have been at least 1,277 confirmed cases of measles reported in the US in 2025, according to data from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Outbreak Response Innovation. Just halfway through the year, the case tally has already surpassed the last record from 2019, when there were a total of 1,274 cases.

Experts say this year’s cases are likely to be severely undercounted because many are going unreported. Three people have died from measles this year – two children in Texas and one adult in New Mexico, all of whom were unvaccinated – matching the total number of US measles deaths from the previous two and a half decades.

What these unvaccinated don't know about measles is that unlike other viruses it wrecks your immune system for years and years afterwards. These children and adults will be more susceptible to all sorts of illnesses after measles that they would otherwise have shrugged off.

We've also spread our stupid to our neighbors. A Canadian infant just died of measles contracted from their unvaxxed mother as did several kids in Mexico.

Naw, their unvaccinated population is getting it the same way ours is. A recent case in Canada is linked to a trip to Vietnam. We’re similar in our stupid but not the origin.

You have no evidence behind your opinion. Canada has 2755 measles cases reported this year. You can blame the bogeyman of travel to Asia, but you would be entirely wrong.

Canada is leading North America the measles outbreak, yes. But there is also a global outbreak of measles. So, I agree that placing it on Asian countries isn’t necessarily accurate even though some Asian country counts are way higher than the North American countries. We can just call this a global problem.
